All I Learned in Kindergarten
[00:10.45]Most of what I really need to know
[00:15.65] about how to live and what to do and how to be,
[00:18.98]I learned in kindergarten.
[00:21.70]Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate mountain,
[00:25.88]but there in the sandbox at nursery school.
[00:29.68]These are the things I learned:
[00:32.53]Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people.
[00:37.85]Put things back where you found them.
[00:41.06]Clean up your own mess.
[00:44.33]Don't take things that aren't yours.
[00:46.65]Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
[00:50.15]Wash your hands before you eat.
[00:53.60]Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
[00:57.56]Live a balanced life.
[01:00.22]Learn some and think some and draw and paint
[01:05.33]and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
[01:10.16]Take a nap every afternoon.
[01:13.24]When you go out into the world,
[01:16.77]watch for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
[01:20.68]Be aware of wonder.
[01:22.72]Remember the little seed in the plastic cup?
[01:26.37]The roots go down and the plant goes up
[01:30.75]and nobody really knows how or why,
[01:33.60]but we are all like that.
[01:36.40]Goldfish and hamsters and white mice
[01:40.04]and even the little seed in the plastic cup,
[01:42.66]they all die. So do we.
[01:45.50]And then remember the book about Dick and Jane
[01:50.21]and the first word you learned, the biggest word of all:
[01:53.35]Look. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere.
[01:58.55]The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation.
[02:04.16] Ecology and politics and sane living.
[02:07.14]Think of what a better world it would be if we all—
[02:11.79]the whole world—had cookies
[02:14.22]and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon
[02:17.45]and then lay down with our blankets for a nap.
[02:20.51]Or if we had a basic policy in our nations
[02:24.58]to always put things back where we found them
[02:28.52]and cleaned up our own messes.
[02:30.79]And it is still true, no matter how old you are,
[02:34.32]when you go out into the world,
[02:37.28] it is better to hold hands and stick together.
确实这些跟着我们整个人生的准则大部分是幼儿园学到的。
