Edward: I’m glad to have the chance to visit your corporation. I’m eager to do business with you.
Christina: That’s good to hear. I believe you’ve seen the exhibits in the showroom. What particular items are you interested in?
Edward: I’m interested in your hardware. I’ve seen the exhibits and studied your catalogues. I think some of the items will find a ready market in Germany. Here’s a list of my requirements. I’d like to have your lowest quotations, CIF Hamburg.
Christina: Thank you. Tell us the quantity you need, so we can work out the offer. 
Edward: I’ll do that. Meanwhile, could you give me an indication of price?
Christina: This is our FOB price list. All the prices on the list are subject to confirmation.
Edward: What about the commission? From European suppliers I usually get a 2–5% commission for my imports. It’s the general practice.
Christina: As a rule, we do not give any commission. But if the order is large enough, we’ll consider it.
Edward: You see, I do business on commission basis. A commission on your prices would make it easier for me to promote sales. Even just 2% or 3%.
Christina: We’ll discuss this when you place your order with us.
