According to a spokesman on Friday, Tennessee will become the first US state to offer free community college to all adults without a degree. The report comes after it was revealed that GOP Governor Bill Haslam is likely to quickly sign measure into law. Haslam, who championed the measure, said in a statement this week, If we want to have jobs ready for Tennesseans, we have to make sure that Tennesseans are ready for jobs and there is no smarter investment than increasing access to high-quality education. The legislation will reportedly expand on a law passed back in 2014, which offers high-school graduates tuition-free community or technical college for two years.
