From Green to Gold

    Hundreds of years ago, small green bony fish swam wild in the rivers of China and Japan. Occasionally, one of these fish would show spots of gold. Some people in China became interested in these gold-spotted fish. They caught one with a little gold color. Then they searched for another to be its mate. When the eggs hatched, many of the young fish also had gold spots. Those that had the most gold were again mated with gold-spotted fish. As each generation of fish grew, more and more gold was visible. Eventually, all of the fish raised were completely gold. Today we have millions of aquariums in all parts of the world with beautiful golden fish swimming in them.
