Hi, I'm Jude Law and I'm an ambassador for Peace One Day. You may already know that Peace One Day led the initiative to establish the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence.Unanimously adopted by United Nations member states as the 21st of September peace day.

In 2007, I traveled to Afghanistan with Jeremy Gilley, the founder and saw the day working firsthand. Since then 4.5 million children have been vaccinated against Polio in Afghanistan because of peace day.

We saw incredible work by the United Nations, by UNICEF World Health Organization, UNAMA and other agencies. And then on Peace Day 2008, the UN announced a 70% reduction in violent incidents in Afghanistan.

These successes led Jeremy to launch the global truce 2012 campaign, which we hope will be the largest reduction in global violence in recorded history on Peace Day 21st of September 2012, and the largest ever gathering of individuals in the name of peace.
