The Wolf In Sheep‘s Clothing

THE  WOLF  IN SHEEP’S  CLOTHING

A wolfresolved to disguise himself in order that he might prey upon a flock of sheepwithout fear of detection: so he clothed himself in a sheepskin and slippedamong the sheep when they were out at pasture. He completely deceived the shepherd, and when the flock was penned forthe night, he was shut in with them.  Butthat very night, as it happened, the shepherd requiring a supply of mutton forthe table, laid his lands on the wolf, mistaking him for a sheep, and finishedhim off with his knife on the spot.

So he clothed himself in a sheepskinand slipped among the sheep when they were out at pasture.         这样，狼将一张羊皮披在身上，当羊在外面草地（吃草时），狼就悄悄的混入了羊群。

Clothe：v。 穿衣，覆盖                               slip:      悄悄地走，溜进

Among：在。。。中间，在。。。之中     pasture：草地，牧场

He completely deceived the shepherd,          它全然骗过了牧羊人

Complete：完全的，全部的                                    deceive：欺骗

Shepherd：牧羊人                                        

and when theflock was penned for the night, he was shut in with them.    当晚上羊群被关入栏中时，狼也被关了起来。

But thatvery night, as it happened, the shepherd requiring a supply of mutton for thetable,  但是，那天夜里，正巧牧羊人的晚餐需要羊肉，

As ithappened：  巧合的是                          mutton：羊肉

laid his handson the wolf, mistaking him for a sheep, and finished him off with his knife onthe spot.

那只披着羊皮的狼被牧羊人选中，误以为那是一只羊，这样，狼就被牧羊人当场宰杀了。
