    Allan didn't like high places.
    Allan didn't climb ladders.
    "No way!"
    Allan didn't go on the slide.
    "Too scary!"
    Allan never jumped off the diving board.
    "Not me!"
    Allan never climbed tall trees.
    "Wait a minute. What's that?"
    Allan's cat was in a tree.
    It was not a tall tree. But Allan thought it was a very tall tree.
    "I can't leave my cat in the tree."
    How could Allan get his cat?
    Allan called for help. "Somebody help! Help!
    Please get my cat!"
    No one answered. Nobody helped.
    Allan cried. Then Allan's dad came outside.
    "Allan, why are you crying?" he said.
    "Dad, my cat is up in the tree.
    I can't get it." Allan said.
    "Climb up here." Allan slowly climbed onto his dad's shoulder.
    "Are you still scared?" Allan's dad asked.
    "No," Allan said.
    Allan got the cat and held it.
    "Don't worry, kitty. You're safe now."
    "Thanks, Dad!"Allan said.
    He looked at the tall tree.
    "Hmmm. That tree is shorter now!"
