Where Willy Went

Willy was a little sperm. 

小威是一个小精子。

He lived inside Mr. Bowne... He lived with 300 million other sperm and they all lived in Mr. Browne at the same address.  

他和三亿个小精子住在一起，都住在布朗先生的身体里。

At school, Willy wasn't very good at sums.   But he was VERY good at swimming. So was Butch.   

在学校里，小威的数学实在不好，不过，是个游泳高手。小威的好朋友小布和小威一样。

Soon it would be time for the Great Swimming Race. Willy practised every day... but so did all the other 300 million sperm... and so did Butch.   

很快就要举行游泳大赛了。小威每天都在认真的练习着... …而其他的三亿精子每天也是认真的练习着。小布也是。

But there was only one prize - a beautiful egg.  

然而，游泳比赛的最终奖品只有一个——一个美丽的卵子。

The egg was inside Mrs. Browne...   

这个美丽的卵子就住在布朗太太的身体里。

" If there are 300 million sperm in the race, how many will you have to beat to win the egg?" the teacher asked.  

数学课上老师问道：“如果这次的游泳比赛有三亿个精子参赛，那你要打倒多少多少精子才能赢得比赛？” 

"Ten?" said Willy. He wasn't very good at sums, but he was VERY good at swimming.   

“是十个吗？”小威嘀咕着。 小威的数学实在不好，不过好在他游泳特别棒。

At last the day of the Great Swimming Race arrived. Teacher gave them all a pair of goggles. And a number. And two maps.   

游泳冠军赛的日子终于到了。老师给了他们每人一副游泳眼镜和两张地图。

The first map showed inside Mr. Browne. The second map showed inside Mrs. Browne.  

一张地图是布朗先生的身体图。另一张是布朗太太的身体图。

That very night Mr. and Mrs. Browne joined together. The teacher cried, "Go!" and the Great Swimming Race began.   

那天晚上，布朗先生和布朗太太亲密的在一起。裁判喊了声“出发！”游泳冠军赛正式开始啦。

Willy swam and swam with all his strength. But so did Butch.   

小威使出了全身的力气游啊游。小布也是。

Willy swam as if his life depended on it. Yet so did Butch.  

冲啊！小威奋不顾身地游着。小布也是。

Butch was catching up. How much further did Willy have to go?   

He didn't know. He wasn't very good at sums... 

眼看着小布快赶上来了，小威却不知道自己离终点还有多远。他的数学实在太不好了。

But he was the BEST at swimming! HURRAH!   

不过，小威的游泳成绩是最棒的！耶！小威第一个到达终点。

The egg was lovely and soft. 

卵子长得很可爱，身体软软的。 

Willy burrowed all the way in... until he disappeared. 

小威使劲地钻到了卵子里… …一直到看不见小威了。

Then something strange happened. Something wonderful. Something magical. Something inside began to grow.   

接下来，奇异的事情发生了！很美妙！也很神奇！有个东西开始慢慢地生长。

It grew and it grew until it grew bigger than the egg. Then it grew some more until it grew bigger than Mrs. Browne's tummy.  

他不停的长啊长，长得比卵子还大。 又继续长啊长，长得比布朗太太的肚子还大。

So Mrs. Browne's tummy grew bigger instead.   

就这样，布朗太太的肚子开始变大。

It grew and it grew and it grew until...the baby was born.   

它长啊长，直到... … 小宝宝诞生了。

It was a little girl. They called her Edna.  

是个小女生，爸爸妈妈叫她小娜。

But where had little Willy gone? Who knows?   

可是小威到哪里去了？没人知道。

But when Edna grew into a little girl and went to school... she found she wasn't very good at sums…

不过，当小娜长成一个小女孩，去上学以后… …她发现他的数学实在不好... …

But she was VERY good at swimming!

不过呢，她可是个游泳高手！
