A painting by the artist Banksy honoring UK healthcare workers has set a new record for the artist, selling for ￡16.75 million at Christie's in London. "Game Changer," which the enigmatic street artist donated to the University Hospital Southampton in May of 2020 during the first wave of the pandemic, depicts a young child playing with a toy Red Cross nurse wearing a cape and face mask. In a nearby basket, figurines of Batman and Spiderman lay forgotten.

Until now, "Game Changer" had only been seen on display at the hospital (a reproduction will now replace it). When Banksy donated the work, he included a note that read: "Thanks for all you're doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if it's only black and white." Proceeds from the auction will be donated to University Hospital Southampton as well as health organizations and charities across the country, according to the auction house.

Lecturer sacked for question marks

A university lecturer who was sacked from his job for "aggressively" using excessive amounts of question marks in texts has won a pay-out. Binoy Sobnack was removed from his role as warden of a hall of residence at Loughborough University following complaints that his use of "multiple punctuation marks" created an "intimidating" tone.

The physics lecturer was accused of unprofessional behavior toward sub-wardens who helped him take care of the students. Messages sent by Dr Sobnack included one that featured six question marks: "Why don't you listen?????? Stick to what has been decided!" But an employment tribunal has ruled Dr Sobnack was unfairly dismissed and awarded him almost ￡15,000 in compensation. However, a judge ruled that the messages were "brusque, blunt and unnecessarily aggressive in tone" and reduced the compensation amount.

Trump plans social media comeback

Former US president Donald Trump is coming back to social media - but this time with his own network, a spokesperson told Fox News on Sunday. Jason Miller, a long-time adviser and spokesperson for Trump's 2020 campaign, said that Trump will be "returning to social media in probably about two or three months." "This is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media," Miller said.

Foreign student enrollments sink

The COVID-19 pandemic and a flurry of immigration-related directives from the last administration devastated enrollment of international students at US schools in 2020, the Wall Street Journal reported. The number of international students fell by 18% last year, to 1.25 million, according to a new tally by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

As of March 1, 43 out of 223 consular posts were operating at full capacity, according to the US State Department.
