The answer is very simple. Fruits are sweet because trees are smart. For some trees, the key to survival(生存) is growing sweet fruits. In this way, they can get animals to help spread their seeds.
For example, bears like apples’ sweet taste. They eat apples and carry the seeds across the forest in their bellies. After the seeds come out of the other end of the bears, a new tree could grow.
Moving the seeds to a different place is really important for a new tree’s healthy start. In this way, it won’t compete with its parent tree for water on sun.
However, not all fruits are sweet. If you’ve ever bitten into a lemon, you know it’s a different experience. But some insects and animals enjoy lemons. They help lemon trees spread seeds.
