How could anyone think weneed fewer college graduates?

怎么会有人觉得应该少些人读大学呢？

Some people answer thatyou can learn a trade without getting a college degree. Welders, they observe,can make more money than many college graduates.

有些人的回答是，因为你在没有大学学位的情况下，也能学会一门手艺，他们说电焊工有时比很多大学生都赚得多。

And that's true. Thereare, of course, reasons why you might want to get a college degree even if youplan to become a welder.
