IN JIADING ATTRACTS RESIDENTS

一期一会 安亭1200年银杏吸引游人无数

People from all across the city have been coming to Anting Town in Jiading District to enjoy the beautiful golden leaves of a 1,200-year-old ginkgo tree【银杏树】, as the leaves of the  tree only turn yellow once a year during December. Visitors can enjoy the beauty within the next 10 days.

每到12月 这一年一度的盛景都会吸引无数游人前来观赏

未来10天 都是赏景的好时光

The tree is 25-meters tall. It's the oldest of 1,300 trees that have been registered in Shanghai. Officials say the tree is still capable of fertilizing【使受粉】 female  ginkgo trees within a 5 kilometer radius【方圆五公里】. Ten years ago, Jiading District built a garden to protect the tree. The garden has real-time surveillance cameras and a tower with a  lightning rod【避雷塔】.
