给他人专注的陪伴。

What does it mean to be present, and how could this have any meaningful effect on your life? I asked.

我问，给他人专注的陪伴，是什么意思？这怎么会对你的人生有影响呢？

His answer surprised me as he said this was the one thing that made his father his hero, and also the one thing that he believed made his life so rich. 

他的回答让我惊讶，因为他说，正是这一点，让他的父亲在他的心中成为一个英雄。也正是这一点，使他自己的人生如此富足。

He said: I couldn't articulate it when I was younger, but my dad always had a special energy about him. Every time he was around, he made you feel special, without ever really doing anything noticeable or out of the ordinary.

他说，在年轻的时候，我无法描述这种感受，但是我父亲总有一种特别的能量。每次他在你身边，即使什么都不做，他也能让你感到，你是特别的。

When I was older, I read somewhere that the only thing any child ever wants, including adult children, is to be seen by their parents, is for their parents' eyes to light up when they enter the room. Well, that was my dad.

当我长大一些后，我了解到，任何一个小孩，甚至是成年的小孩，想要的唯一一个东西，就是父母的关注，他们想看到，在自己进入房间时，父母的眼睛突然会亮起来。这就是我父亲做的事。
