'天问一号'首次轨道修正

China's Mars probe Tianwen-1 successfully carried out its first orbital correction Sunday morning, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA). 

据国家航天局消息，北京时间8月2日，中国火星探测器"天问一号"成功实施了首次轨道修正。

The probe conducted the orbital correction at 7 am (Beijing Time) after its 3,000 N engine worked for 20 seconds, and continued to head for Mars. 

当日早7时，"天问一号"3000牛发动机工作20秒完成了轨道修正，并继续飞向火星。

Before the orbital correction, the Mars probe had traveled more than 230 hours in space, and was about 3 million km away from the Earth. All the systems of the probe were in good condition. 

此次轨道修正前，"天问一号"已在太空中飞行逾230个小时，距地球约300万公里，所有系统均状态良好。

The probe will undergo several orbital corrections in a more than six-month journey to Mars, said the CNSA source. 

国家航天局表示，在6个多月前往火星的旅途中，"天问一号"将进行多次轨道修正。

The Mars probe is expected to reach the red planet around February 2021. After entering the orbit, it will spend another two to three months surveying the candidate landing sites before landing.

预计"天问一号"火星探测器将在2021年2月前后到达火星。进入轨道后，"天问一号"还会在着陆前花两三个月对候选着陆点进行考察。

海南免税品销售额激增

China's island province of Hainan has recorded 2.219 billion yuan in duty-free shopping by tourists from July 1 to 27, up 234.19% from the same period last year, the General Administration of Customs said. During the period, about 281,000 tourists visited the island, up 42.71% year-on-year. 

海关总署近日表示，7月1日至27日，海关共监管海南离岛免税销售金额22.19亿元、购物旅客约28.1万人次，较去年同期分别增长234.19%、42.71%。

The range of duty-free goods has also expanded, growing from 38 categories to 45, while the previous tax-free limit of 8,000 yuan for a single product has been lifted. Starting from July 1, Hainan has increased its annual tax-free shopping quota from 30,000 yuan to 100,000 yuan per person each year.

从7月1日起，海南离岛旅客每年每人免税购物额度由3万元提至10万元。离岛免税商品品种由38种增至45种，取消单件商品8000元免税限额规定。

6月初，我国发布了一项总体方案，拟将海南建设成为具有全球影响力的自由贸易港。

The TikTok community is pouring out its frustration over the possible ban by the US government and is expressing support for the company on social media. 

美国政府可能实施的封禁在TikTok社区引发强烈沮丧情绪，大批网友在社交媒体上声援TikTok公司。

The app has gained in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic, since many view it as a source of entertainment and education. 

这款应用程序在新冠肺炎疫情期间走红，许多人将其视为娱乐和教育的来源。

Many young TikTok users are so desperate to keep the app around that they launched a movement called "saveTikTok" on social media. TikTok star Griffin Johnson tweeted on Saturday that it had given him "a lot of friends & memories that I will forever be thankful for".

TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer said in a blog post on Wednesday that the reason his company was under scrutiny was because of its Chinese origins.

Under the grand framework of China-US strategic gaming, the rise of TikTok is symbolic of the challenge to US dominance in information technology, said Shen Yi, professor and director of the Research Institution of Global Cyberspace Governance at Fudan University in Shanghai. "This is likely to cause fury in the White House," he said. 

上海复旦大学网络空间国际治理研究基地主任沈逸教授称，在中美战略博弈的大框架下，TikTok崛起代表了中国正对美国在信息技术领域的优势发起挑战，这可能引起白宫的狂怒。

Shen said TikTok's success, especially its popularity among the younger generation of American users, stands to showcase a true China to local audiences and could help destroy the "evil China image" that the Trump administration has long been fabricating. "This is a fight for supremacy overdiscourse and ideology."

The SpaceX Crew Dragon "Endeavour" spacecraft carrying two NASA astronauts parachuted to a splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida on Sunday, completing a two-month mission to the International Space Station (ISS). 

搭载两名美国航天局(NASA)宇航员的美国太空探索技术公司(SpaceX)奋进号"龙"飞船在完成为期两个月的国际空间站任务后，8月2日返回地球，溅落在佛罗里达州海岸的墨西哥湾。

When the spacecraft splashed down off the coast of Pensacola, Florida at 2:48 pm EDT Sunday, the SpaceX recovery vessel GO Navigator was waiting at the landing zone. The recovery teams then opened the hatch and retrieved NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley, according to NASA live broadcast. 

美国东部时间14时48分，飞船溅落在佛罗里达州彭萨科拉海岸，SpaceX回收船GO Navigator在着陆区等待。NASA的直播画面显示，回收小组打开舱门，NASA宇航员罗伯特·本肯和道格拉斯·赫尔利被抬出舱。

The return of the test flight with the two astronauts from the ISS marks the first splashdown of an American crew spacecraft in 45 years, said NASA.

It also wrapped up the test flight for the first commercially owned and operated crewed spacecraft under NASA's Commercial Crew Program.
