Thank you so much for tonight’s honour and I only wish that I could be in that extraordinary space at BAM, and thank you all in person.

It’s a great sadness to me, given the electric nature of...not only the spaces at BAM, but people who work there and move through there. The extraordinary global community that BAM has helped to connect and reconnect and continue to connect. And that it all happens out of there, it’s sad that we can’t gather tonight.

But I feel supremely honoured in to be recognised By BAM in any way. It’s had a profound influence on me, creatively as an audience member, the extraordinary works of opera and dance, and drama, and the readings, the cinematek, everything, every element of the BAM repertoire.

但能被BAM以何种方式认可我都感到非常荣幸。作为一名观众，它对我产生了深远的影响，创造性地影响了我在歌剧、舞蹈、戏剧、阅读、电影技巧、以及BAM剧目中的每一个元素。

And vision has had a profound influence on me creatively, but also to have worked there. That had the opportunity to re-rehearse a play there, to have Streetcar and Hedda Gabler that we bought from the Sydney Theatre Company was an unforgettable experience.

Because of course, it’s not just that resonant space that is like no other around the world. But it’s also to interface with those audiences. The audience that BAM has built up over the years, I think it’s one of the most engaged, electric, clued in, adventurous audiences that I’ve ever had the great, good fortune to perform to, for, with.

这不仅因为在BAM剧院产生的共鸣是世界独一无二的，更是因为在这里可以和现场观众互动。BAM剧院多年来积累起来的观众，我认为这是我有幸为之演出的最投入、最充满活力、最冒险的观众之一。

Their love of cross form has obviously, you know, as a result of generations of audience member growing up with the extraordinary offerings that BAM has given them, and I look forward to the next opportunity to be there, not only as an actor, I hope, but as an audience member.

I miss it greatly, but it lives on in my memory. And I know when we emerge from the crisis, which is global, we are going to want to gather, because there is nothing like the live experience and that is the heartbeat of BAM, and that is what BAM has to offer the city and the world, and I am honoured to have been in any way a small part of that legacy, and supremely honoured to be recongised by BAM. Thank you.
