The number of international tourist arrivals will drop by 60-80% in 2020 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the World Tourism Organization said. Widespread travel restrictions and the closure of airports and national borders to curb the spread of the virus had plunged international tourism into its worst crisis since records began in 1950, the UN tourism body said in a statement. 

世界旅游组织表示，受新冠肺炎疫情影响，今年国际游客人数将减少六至八成。该联合国旅游机构在一份声明中称，为遏制病毒传播，多国实施旅行限制、关闭机场和边境等措施，使全球旅游业陷入自上世纪五十年代有记录以来的最大危机。

Tourist arrivals dropped by 22% in the first quarter of the year, and by 57% in March alone, with Asia and Europe suffering the biggest declines. 

今年一季度全球旅游人数下降22%，仅3月一个月就下降了57%，其中亚洲和欧洲的游客规模减少幅度最大。

"The world is facing an unprecedented health and economic crisis. Tourism has been hit hard, with millions of jobs at risk in one of the most labor-intensive sectors of the economy," said Zurab Pololikashvili, secretary-general of the tourism body.

The White House has directed staff working in the West Wing, where the daily operations of US President Donald Trump's administration are carried out, to wear masks at all times in the building, except when they are at their own desks, a senior administration official confirmed on Monday.

Chinese college students have used image editing applications to design various creative graduation photos as the novel coronavirus disease has made it impossible for them to pose for a graduation photo together. 

受新冠肺炎疫情影响，国内大学生无法聚在一起摆拍毕业照，于是他们利用图像编辑应用设计出各种创意毕业照。

Three students from a class of College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Central South University in Chang'sha, Hunan province, recently created a set of special graduation photos for their class. 

湖南长沙中南大学化学化工学院某班的三名学生近日为自己的班级创作了一组特别的毕业照。

Using photos of graduates' faces and hand-drawn baccalaureate gowns, the students created photos of the class "posing for group photos" in front of the school gate, library and other landmark buildings of Central South University. These "Photoshopped" graduation photos touched many internet users, some saying they want to laugh but feel sad at the same time.

他们利用毕业生的面部照片和手绘学士服，创作了班级成员在校门、图书馆以及其他校园标志性建筑前的"合影留念组照"。这些利用修图软件编辑成的毕业照感动了不少网友，有人说想笑的同时又觉得难过。

Gree Electric Chairperson Dong Ming'zhu sold 100 million yuan in products via Kuai'shou, a leading Chinese online short video platform, on May 10, Mother's Day and China Brand Day.

Dong, together with livestreaming celebrity Li Jia'qi, showcased a Gree Electric air conditioner at a discount price of 3,699 yuan, 700 yuan lower than its original price. About 1,844 such air conditioners, worth about 6.8 million yuan in total, were sold within 5 minutes.

Dong has changed her original attitude toward online sales, and said the livestream was not an end but a new start. She said she will continue to use the platform to bring high-quality Chinese products online.
