M: Hmmm. That's a tough one. I guess the first thing is to try to make a good impression.

W: That sounds like good advice. How do I make a good first impression?

M: To begin with, you should firmly shake the interviewer's hand while greeting him or her with a smile. Be sure to keep eye contact, especially when listening to the interviewer.

W: Ah, body language is really important, isn't it?

M: Yes, it is. The second thing is to have confidence. You get confidence from being prepared. You should learn a little bit about the company before the interview. Find out what they do, how long they've been in business, what their business motto is, that kind of thing. You should also anticipate possible questions, and think about how you will answer.

W: Should I memorize my answers beforehand?

M: No! Definitely not! You should be natural when you speak. Just think about how you want to answer, and choose the right words at the time of the interview. That way, you can use the interviewer's own words in your answer, which shows you've been listening. Then you're sure to make a good impression.

我们今天来学一个音叫做/ɑ/，这个音是美国英语跟英国英语非常重要的一个区别。美国英语中当出现字母O的时候，在很多场景中就发/ɑ/这个音。比如说我们这节课出现的几个词：job,  body, problem都是/ɑ/这个音。大家注意，这个音不念“啊”也不念O，而是念/ɑ/，这个音汉语中是没有的，所以千万不要对应汉语的发音。

19. 辅音纠正

我们再来学习另外一个很重要的辅音/θ/，这个音舌头是放在上下牙齿之间的，举个例子：think，还有thing。另外一个跟这个音比较相似的是/ð/，这个音也是舌头在上下牙齿之间。比如说我们这节课出现的that，还有定冠词（the），我们念做/ðə/或者/ði:/。还有表示“然后”的词（then）念做/ðen/。
