摩根·弗里曼《不可征服》

此为维多利亚时期(19世纪)英国诗人威廉亨利(William Ernest Henley, 1849-1903)的名篇。作者从小体弱多病，患有肺结核症，一只脚被截掉;为了保住另一只脚，他一生都奋力和病魔抗争，不向命运屈服。"Invictus，拉丁语(=unconquerable)，"不可征服"之意。此诗是诗人在病榻上所作。

前南非总统纳尔逊·曼德拉的传记片《成事在人》于2009年公映，并获得第82届奥斯卡金像奖。《成事在人》的片名由原来的工作用名"The Human Factor"改为了"Invictus"--- 该片导演克林特·伊斯特伍德取自曼德拉经常背诵的一首短诗《Invictus》，由William Ernest Henley创作，主题是有关"面对灾难时争取生存"。
