Money is a good servant

Money is important 

金钱至关重要 

Quite a cliche. But I was raised in a way to believe that money is not important. And I inherited this conviction somehow I can't blame anyone in particular, but somehow there it planted a conviction in my head that people with money are not nice people. 

这听起来是陈词滥调。但之前在我成长过程中，我觉得钱并不重要，我不知不觉地就继承了这种想法，当然我不能责怪任何人。到后来，在我大脑逐渐形成这样一个观念：有钱人往往不是好人。 

So when I had money, I would spend it as soon as I could, and then when I found my purpose working with students, I just didn't ask for it, I didn't care. I just wanted to change the world, which I had no impact on whatsoever with three years and 97 cents. 

因此，当我有了钱，我就会尽快花掉。后来，当我把教师作为人生目标时，我对工资毫不在意，也并未过问。我仅仅是想改变这个世界，但三年下来，我只有97美分，我无法改变任何事物。 

And I also learned that money doesn't make you a bad person, it just makes you more of who you are, so if you're a jerk with a lot of money, you're probably a jerk when you're broke as well. 

同时，我也认识到，金钱并不会让你成为坏人，它只会让你活得更像你自己。所以，如果你是腰缠万贯的蠢人，那当你破产后，你很可能依然是个蠢人。 

And if I would have more money, I would simply give more, but if I have to worry about money every day, all day, I can't even take care of myself and I have nothing to give. 

如果我有更多的钱，我就会更多地给予和付出。但如果我每天都为钱发愁，我连自己都照顾不好，更谈不上给予了。
