第一幕

It is a hot, sunny day.

烈日当空，今天天气太热了。

Ant is thirsty.

蚂蚁感到有点口渴。

“I am going to find some water.”

“不行，我要去找点水喝。”

She finds a small pond.

于是她来到一个小池塘边上。

“I must climb on the rocks to get to the water.”

“哎呀，要喝水得先爬到那块石头上。”

Suddenly, Ant slips!

突然，蚂蚁脚下一滑！

Splash!She falls into the cool water.

噗通一声！她掉进了冷水里。

“Oh, no! I don’t know how to swim,” cries Ant.

蚂蚁急得哭了出来：“天哪！我不会游泳呀！”

“What am I going to do?”

“怎么办呢？”

Dove is in a tree by the pond.

一只鸽子站在池塘旁边的一棵树上。

He hearsAnt say,

他听到蚂蚁在求救。

“Help me! Help me!”

“救命啊！谁来帮帮我！”

Dove knows that ants can’t swim.

鸽子知道蚂蚁不会游泳。

“I must help Ant now,” says Dove.

“我得去帮她！马上！” 鸽子说。

He pulls a leaf off the tree.

鸽子从树上叼了一片树叶。

Then, he throws the leaf into the pond.

然后把树叶扔向池塘。

Ant jumps onto the leaf.

蚂蚁跳了上去。

Soon, Ant is back on the rocks.

不一会儿，蚂蚁就回到了石头上。

“Thank you for helping me, Dove.”

“太感谢你了，小鸽子。”

“You are welcome,” says Dove.

“不客气。”

Dove flies back to his nest.

鸽子飞回了自己的小窝里。

Ant starts walking home.

蚂蚁也回家了。

第二幕

Then, she sees a hunter hiding by Dove’s nest.

但是没过一会儿，蚂蚁发现树林里有个猎人藏在鸽子巢穴附近。

The hunter has a very big gun.

猎人手里拿着一把巨大的步枪。

He is trying to shoot Dove.

他要射杀鸽子！

“Oh, no! I must help Dove. The hunter will shoot!”

“不好！我要去帮帮鸽子。他马上就要开枪了！”

Ant runs over to the hunter.

蚂蚁朝着猎人飞奔过去。

She bites the hunter on his leg.

她在猎人的大腿上狠狠地咬了一口。

“Ouch!” cries the hunter.

“哎哟！”猎人疼得差点哭出来。

The hunter drops the gun.

枪从猎人手里掉下去。

“Bang! Bang!”

“砰砰！”

Dove quickly flies out of his nest.

鸽子听到枪声，迅速飞出了小窝。

Ant bites the hunter again, and the hunter runs away.

蚂蚁紧接着又咬了一口，猎人逃之夭夭。

Dove flies back to his nest.

鸽子见猎人逃跑了，这才飞回到树上。

He looks down, and he sees Ant on the stump.

他往下一看，蚂蚁正好站在树桩上。

He flies down to the grass and sits next to Ant.

鸽子便飞下来，挨着蚂蚁在草坪上坐下来。

Dove looks at Ant and smiles.

鸽子看着蚂蚁露出微笑。

“Thank you for helping me, Ant.”

“感谢你救了我，小蚂蚁。”

“You are welcome,” says Ant.

“别客气。”蚂蚁回答。

“You were kind to me first.”

“你之前也救了我。”

“It is always good to be kind,” says Dove.

“看来心存善念很重要。”鸽子说。

The two new friends say goodbye.

两个好朋友互相道别。

They hope to meet again.

他们希望下次再会。
