The elephant says to the tortoise,"I can stand on you ."
大象对乌龟说：“我可以把你踩在脚下。”
The tortoise says,"No, you can't.I'm strong.I can stop you."The elephant laughs.
乌龟说：“不，你不能。我很强壮。你不会得逞。”大象哈哈大笑。
"Look,I'm very strong,"says the tortoise."You hold the end of this rope.
“看着，我非常强壮，”乌龟说，“你拉住绳子这头儿。”
I can hold the other end of the rope. We can both pull. Then you can see that I'm strong."
我拉住绳子那头儿。我们来拔河。让你见识见识我的强壮。
The tortoise runs behind the trees,and picks up the other end of the rope.
乌龟跑到树林后面，拣起绳子的另外一头儿。
The tortoise says to the hippo,"I'm very strong."The hippo laughs.
乌龟对河马说：“我很强壮。”河马哈哈大笑。
"Look,"says the tortoise."You hold the end of this rope.
“看着，”乌龟说，“你拉住绳子这头儿。
I can hold the other end of the rope. We can both pull. Then you can see that I'm strong."
我拉住绳子那头。我们来拔河。让你见识见识我的强壮。”
The tortoise runs into the trees. Then she shouts,"PULL!"
乌龟跑进树林里。然后她高声喊：“拉！”
The elephant pulls and the hippo pulls.
大象和河马一起拉起来。
The hippo pulls and pulls and pulls.
河马拉呀拉呀拉呀。
The elephant pulls and pulls and pulls.
大象拉呀拉呀拉呀。
Snap!The rope breaks. The hippo falls into the river.
啪！绳子断了。河马栽进了河里。
And the elephant sits down - bump!
大象一屁股坐在了地上—澎！
"See,I am very strong!"laughs the tortoise.
“看到了吧，我可是非常强壮的！”乌龟哈哈大笑。
