Elementary school (Primaryschool)

    Children go to local district schools

    Only need to live in the area, don’t need to own property.

    Kindergarten is the first year

    5-6 year old kids

    Usually half day class

Grades 1-5

      Have the same teacher for most of the classes

      Teach math, language arts, history, science

      Lots of group work in class 

      Very light amount of homework 

School events

     Sport day

     Science fairs

     Plays/performance

Middle school

   Still based on district

Grades 6-8 (Homeroom?)

    Students start to change classes and teachers for each subject

    Students start to be placed in different paths

    Advanced classes

    Athletics

    Extracurricular sports

    School teams and competitions with other schools

High school

    Still based on district

Grades 9-12

    Students choose classes (required classes/elective classes)

    College prep or vocational （65.9% go to college-2014）

    Many electives to choose from

Sports （Varsity）

   Sports become much more competitive

   Some students path to university

   Community activity

   Many people go and watch the games.
