Describe a time that you saved money forsth

This question reminds me of an experiencein my childhood.

When I was a kid, my family was not rich,so we were quite stingy on everything. One day my neighbor’s kid bought a Nintendowhich attracted all kids in the neighborhood. Most of the times all other kidsjust stood around him and watched him play those arresting games like SuperMario, Contra, and Battle City. But sometimes, he would let us play in turn. Eachof us could only play around 10 minutes, which did not satiate me. So, I wantedto save up for my own Nintendo.

This is how I did it:

In the beginning, I prepared a piggy bank. Oncein a while, I would put my spare changes into the bank.

But then I found it was so slow that itwould take me forever to realize my goal. So I took a part-time job, which wasdoing homework for my classmates. And  they would pay me like 1 yuan for a day’s workload.

As time went by, the spring festival came. Duringthis period I received an avalanche of red packets. Thanked to this windfall,my dream came true.

This experience taught me how important persistence is.
