Grandmother is themother of your father or mother

Grandfather is thefather of your father or mother

Did you get it?

grandmother就是祖母，或者外婆；

grandfather就是祖父，或者外公。

Here I would likeyou to know more about grand-.

它可以表示相隔两代的关系，所以grandfather就是隔两代的father.

当然，亲切一点，我们也可以叫grandpa，爷爷，姥爷；grandma，奶奶，姥姥。
