Suddenly, an emergency (紧急的) bell rang. A Scarer named George (乔治) had returned from the human world with a child’s sock on his back!
In seconds, a squad (小组) from the Child Detection Agency (儿童缉查局), also known as the CDA, arrived to decontaminate (消毒) him. Poor George!
While the Scare Floor was shut down for cleanup (清扫，整顿), Sulley talked to Mr. Waternoose (沃特诺斯先生), the head of Monsters, Inc. Mr. Waternoose was worried that the company couldn’t supply (提供) enough power for the city.
To help out, Sulley promised to demonstrate (展示) proper scaring techniques (技巧) to the new Scare recruits (新成员).
After work, Mike rushed to meet his girlfriend, Celia (西莉亚), for dinner. But Roz blocked his way.
“I’m sure you filed your paperwork, right?” rasped (用刺耳的声音说) the cranky (暴躁的) clerk.
Mike had forgotten! Now he was going to be late for his date with Celia. Luckily, Sulley offered to (主动提出) file the paperwork for him.
When Sulley went back to the Scare Floor to get the papers, he noticed that someone had left a door out. He peeked (偷看) inside but didn’t see any monsters.
Then something grabbed his tail. It was . . . a child!
Sulley tried to toss (投掷) the little girl back into her bedroom, but she wanted to play. She giggled and chased Sulley around, calling, “Kitty!”
Sulley finally managed to (设法做) put the child into a duffel bag (行李袋). He raced back to the Scare Floor and saw Randall. The sneaky (鬼鬼祟祟的) monster pushed a button and sent the girl’s door back to storage (仓库). What was Sulley going to do?
Sulley went to the restaurant (餐厅) where Mike and Celia were having dinner. As he tried to explain what was going on, the child got out of the bag.
“Boo!” she shouted, giggling.
All the monsters screamed. When the CDA arrived, Mike and Sulley scooped (抱起) the girl up in a take-out container (容器) and ran.
At their apartment, Sulley and Mike tried to keep their distance (距离) from the girl. They were terrified of her!
Then Mike tripped (绊倒), and the little girl laughed. As she giggled, the lights in the room burned brighter and brighter—until they burned out with a pop! If that happened again, the CDA would surely find them.
